Bob Benton is the founder of Bob & Co, Ltd. He has acted as an adviser, a fundraiser, and an investor in content for over 20 years.
Most recently Bob exec-produced Jet Trash, currently in post-production; the micro-budget film, High Tide; The Call Up with Altitude and Creative England; and the BAFTA nominated and Sundance Award winning, Lilting.
In Television, Bob recently exec-produced That Day We Sang, starring Imelda Staunton and Michael Ball for BBC 2 on Boxing Day. He is an exec-producer of Q Pootle 5, an animated pre-school production for CBeebies.
In June 2014, Bob & Co, Ltd announced the launch of its new TV production company, Duchess Street Productions to produce high-end original drama and dramatic adaptations.
Bob’s early career includes many years’ experience in investment banking and stock broking. He acted as Managing Director and Head of Media at Canaccord Adams, and as Chief Executive of Ingenious Securities. Before that, he was Chairman of Bridgewell Group, the stockbroker which he founded in 2002 and floated on AIM in 2007. Bob has also held office as Chairman and CEO of Charterhouse Securities, global head of sales at ABN Amro and Managing Director of HSBC Securities Services (formerly HSBC James Capel) before becoming chief executive of the company aged 34.
He served for 8 years as the Chairman of Clarksons Plc, the FTSE 250 shipping group.
Bob was educated at King’s Canterbury and Exeter University.
